Op eerder momenten waren we al in het <a href=\"https:\/\/cyclingdestination.cc\/de\/verhalen\/gravelen-in-de-achterhoek-de-hit-van-2022\/\" type=\"post\" id=\"4875\">Berkelland<\/a> en rondom <a href=\"https:\/\/cyclingdestination.cc\/de\/verhalen\/gravelroute-in-gelderland-strade-bianche-achterhoek\/\" type=\"post\" id=\"7074\">Zelhem<\/a>, waar we twee prachtige routes reden. Prachtige, lange gravelstroken, waar de Randstadeling stikjaloers op zal zijn. Dit keer reden we een mooie route vanuit het prachtige Ulft, een dorpje bijna tegen de grens met Duitsland. De route was de verkenning voor de toertocht van RTC de Widlt uit Ulft. Of het de moeite waard was? Wat denk je zelf! Ik ben een randstedeling. Geboren en getogen in Amersfoort. Via een omweg door Leiden, Amsterdam, Haarlem en het megalomane Los Angeles ben ik in Utrecht beland. In mijn jeugd en in mijn jong volwassen jaren, was de <strong>Achterhoek<\/strong>, ook daadwerkelijk de ACHTERhoek. Achter de IJssel, ver weg, dichtbij Duitsland, Normaal en alle andere vooroordelen die je erop kunt plakken. Kortom, daar kwam je niet, alleen als het ECHT moest. Want de grote steden, daar gebeurde het. Als ik de natuur in wilde, dan liep ik wel een rondje Zeisterbos. Een middagje Vondelpark, das toch ook buiten? Sinds ik in 2015 weer actiever ben gaan fietsen, is mijn blik op de wereld ook veranderd. Met name mijn beeld van Nederland is drastisch verbeterd. De wereld is mooi, Nederland is mooi, de Achterhoek incluis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Prachtige gravelroute rondom Ulft<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Mijn fietscompagnon voor vandaag, Manon Bouwman, heeft een prachtige gravelroute gelegd. Of naja, zij kreeg m dan weer van haar clubgenoten, die de toertocht aan het voorbereiden zijn. &#8216;Of zij even wilde kijken met haar eventoog of dit een leuke route is&#8217;. Dat is een mooie taak. Dan kun je de route ook nog iets beter in je opnemen. Het is ook handig omdat je dan kunt inschatten: is dit een leuke gravelroute voor een groep. De offici\u00eble route start bij <a href=\"https:\/\/rtcdewildt.nl\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">RTC de Wildt<\/a>. Met bijna 75 kilometer voor de dikke banden belooft het een prachtige dag te worden.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-gallery has-nested-images columns-default is-cropped wp-block-gallery-2 is-layout-flex wp-block-gallery-is-layout-flex\">\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" data-id=\"11436\" src=\"https:\/\/cyclingdestination.cc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/IMG_1912-1024x576.webp\" alt=\"gravelroute rondom ulft, gravel achterhoek, gravelen in ulft, gravelen in de achterhoek, breed boerenpad, manon bouwman\" class=\"wp-image-11436\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Non Stop Gravel<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Wie een beetje bekend is met de Achterhoekse gravelroutes, die weet dat je hier non-stop gravel kunt vinden. Singletracks, boerenpaden, een coulissenlandschap waar je de keuze hebt tussen verhard en onverhard plus prachtige natuurgebieden. Ook op deze route vind je dat terug. Als we het dorp verlaten, hebben we binnen twee kilometer de eerste onverharde bospaden al voor de kiezen. Het is de voorbode voor een mooie route.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-gallery has-nested-images columns-default is-cropped wp-block-gallery-3 is-layout-flex wp-block-gallery-is-layout-flex\">\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" data-id=\"11438\" src=\"https:\/\/cyclingdestination.cc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/IMG_7687-576x1024.webp\" alt=\"gravelroute rondom ulft, gravel achterhoek, gravelen in ulft, gravelen in de achterhoe\" class=\"wp-image-11438\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" data-id=\"11437\" src=\"https:\/\/cyclingdestination.cc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/IMG_7685-576x1024.webp\" alt=\"gravel achterhoek, strade bianche, gravelritje Ulft\" class=\"wp-image-11437\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Draaien en keren<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We draaien en keren door het landschap. Elke keer ben ik weer verbaasd wat er achter de volgende bocht opdoemt. De verhouding tussen gravelstroken en verhard wegdek is perfect. Af en toe moet je even wat overbruggen, maar die stukken asfalt zijn nooit ellenlang. Een prachtig hoogtepunt op deze route is het gedeelte rondom <strong>Vennebuiten<\/strong>. Je waant je echt in het buitenland, maar ook even weg van de wereld. Pak in dit stuk vooral de MTB route mee. Mooi slingeren en een klein venijnig klimmetje. Met als resultaat een uitzichtspunt met een heerlijk meertje.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-gallery has-nested-images columns-default is-cropped wp-block-gallery-4 is-layout-flex wp-block-gallery-is-layout-flex\">\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" data-id=\"11439\" src=\"https:\/\/cyclingdestination.cc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/IMG_1946-1024x576.webp\" alt=\"gravel rondom ulft, gravel achterhoek, gravelen in ulft, gravelen in de achterhoek\" class=\"wp-image-11439\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Het mooie natuurgebied Vennebuiten<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Zelhem, Duitsland en meer<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Gravel rondom Ulft betekent ook <strong>dichtbij Duitsland<\/strong>. Eerst zoeken we de velden en het bos op rondom Zelhem, daarna door het prachtige natuurgebied dichtbij de Duitse grens bij Dinxperlo en door het natuurgebied Schievekamp. Als je dit niet gewend bent en in de Randstad woont, dan wil je hier gelijk een huis. Als je het wel gewend bent: nog steeds een gave route en omgeving. Als je de route al kent, dan kun je altijd nog een eigen draai aan de route geven of &#8216;m in omgekeerde richting rijden.
