Dass die <a href=\"https:\/\/cutt.ly\/r6gnwJl\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Start der Tour de France<\/a> geht in die moderne Hafenstadt, die man nirgendwo sieht. Vielleicht kennzeichnet es auch die Kultur. Stolz und doch irgendwo zur\u00fcckhaltend oder reserviert. Das kann man von unseren Reiseleitern f\u00fcr die n\u00e4chsten Tage nicht behaupten. Obwohl Ander Ortiz von <a href=\"https:\/\/cutt.ly\/ywqYWeKM\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Bizi-Radtouren<\/a> ist die Ruhige, Virginia Berasategui kommt die Leidenschaft geradezu aus den Ohren heraus. Vor allem, wenn wir \u00fcber das Radfahren in der Region sprechen. Dass wir in unserer Planung die Strecke bei Gaztelugatxe nicht mit einbeziehen wollen, kommt nicht in Frage. \"Das ist der sch\u00f6nste Teil\". Die <a href=\"https:\/\/cutt.ly\/AwqYQ4wF\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Guggenheim-Museum<\/a>ein Entwurf von Frank Gehry, erstrahlt in vollem Glanz. Das typische Ger\u00e4usch eines gesch\u00e4ftigen Samstagnachmittags und -abends empf\u00e4ngt uns. Wir \u00fcbernachten im <a href=\"https:\/\/app.business.booking.com\/xapp\/nl\/stay\/details\/188996?adultCount=1&amp;checkinDate=2025-12-08&amp;checkoutDate=2025-12-09&amp;destinationId=-373608&amp;destinationType=city&amp;guestAccountCountryCode=NL&amp;guestCurrency=EUR&amp;roomCount=1&amp;searchLocation=Bilbao\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Hotel Gran Bilbao<\/a>direkt au\u00dferhalb des alten Stadtzentrums. Ein perfekter Ausgangspunkt, um Stadt und Region zu verbinden. In wenigen Minuten ist man mitten in der Stadt und in wenigen Minuten f\u00e4hrt man zwischen den gr\u00fcnen H\u00fcgeln. Am Abend schnappen wir uns unsere Fahrr\u00e4der und fahren entlang des Flusses in die Stadt. Hier finden wir die ersten Anzeichen f\u00fcr den bevorstehenden Tourstart. In der N\u00e4he des Gerichtsgeb\u00e4udes, mit dem Guggenheim im Hintergrund, finden wir eine gro\u00dfe Countdown-Uhr. Der Schweizer Zeitsponsor erscheint gro\u00df auf dem Schild. Noch 69 Tage, steht da. Ein irisches Ehepaar ist erschrocken: \"Nur 69 Stunden! Es ist gr\u00fcn, man befindet sich am Golf von Biskaya mit einem Bergr\u00fccken, der sehr sch\u00f6n alle Regenwolken abhalten kann. Wo wir am Samstag bei sonnigem Wetter angekommen sind, wird der gro\u00dfe gelbe Ball am Sonntag von grauen Wolken abgeschirmt. Anfangs beharren wir noch darauf, dass wir mit dem Rad fahren werden, wir sind ja jetzt sowieso hier\". Als der erste sintflutartige Regen niedergeht, lassen wir es sein. Es wird eine Tour durch die Stadt. Keine Strafe, denn abgesehen vom Guggenheim, der absoluten Top-Attraktion, kann man sich in Bilbao gut am\u00fcsieren. Sie k\u00f6nnen das beeindruckende Stadion San Mames besichtigen, in dem der stolze Athletic Club zu Hause ist. Vergessen Sie nicht das k\u00f6stliche Essen oder einen Besuch in einer klassischen Kaffeebar. Oberhalb der Stadt gibt es einige gro\u00dfartige Aussichtspunkte, die Sie in k\u00fcrzester Zeit \u00fcber eine Treppe \"erklimmen\" k\u00f6nnen. Wir fahren in Richtung K\u00fcste, zur Stadt Plentzia und von dort aus folgen wir der K\u00fcstenlinie in Richtung <strong>San Juan de Gaztelugatxe<\/strong>. Die Strecke ist \u00e4hnlich wie die erste Etappe des Grand Depart Euskadi. Obwohl sie f\u00fcr eine \u2018sch\u00f6ne Fahrt\u2019 recht lang ist, ist es eine wunderbare Strecke. Tipp von uns: Schneiden Sie sie in zwei Teile).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Biskaya-Br\u00fccke<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Auf der Westseite von Bilbao, in der N\u00e4he des Hafengebiets, finden Sie ein architektonisches Meisterwerk. Die Biskaya-Br\u00fccke, entworfen von Alfonso Palacio, einem Sch\u00fcler des ber\u00fchmten Eiffel, ist ein echter Blickfang. Der schwimmende Ponton auf der Br\u00fccke, der Platz f\u00fcr 200 Passagiere und sechs Autos bietet, bewegt sich zwischen zwei Ufern hin und her. Sch\u00f6n, wenn man das als \u00dcberfahrt hinzuf\u00fcgen kann. Ist mal was anderes als die F\u00e4hre zwischen Wijk bij Duurstede und Culemborg. Nach der Br\u00fccke fahren wir nach Plentzia, der zweiten Heimat unserer Reiseleiterin Virginia. Hier finden Sie einen malerischen Ortskern mit einer neuen, sch\u00f6nen Br\u00fccke und engen Gassen. Alle D\u00f6rfer und St\u00e4dte, die wir besuchen, bieten \u00e4hnliche Aussichten. Ein Strand oder ein Hafen mit einem Caf\u00e9, einem Restaurant und Fischerbooten. In Plentzia finden Sie auch das <a href=\"https:\/\/tourism.euskadi.eus\/en\/top-experiences\/underwater-wine-cellar\/aa30-12378\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">einziger Unterwasser-Weinkeller<\/a>. Vergessen Sie das. Im Baskenland ist selbst der Boulevard uneben. Wir fahren hinauf und dann wieder hinunter. Nach etwa 20 Kilometern ab Plentzia erklimmen wir den San Pelaio. Drei Kilometer lang, 320 H\u00f6henmeter, aber mit durchschnittlich sieben Prozent. Unter uns pl\u00e4tschert das Wasser gegen die steilen Felsen. Wir treffen ein paar andere Radfahrer. Diese Strecke im Baskenland ist auch bei Fans von Game of Thrones beliebt. Auf dem Gipfel von San Pelaio haben wir einen Blick auf <a href=\"https:\/\/tourism.euskadi.eus\/en\/top10\/cultural-heritage\/hermitage-of-san-juan-de-gaztelugatxe\/aa30-12376\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">San Juan de Gaztelugatxe<\/a>. Mehrere Staffeln der Serie wurden auf dieser Insel gedreht und sie dient Daenerys Targaryen als Drachenstein. Fr\u00fcher war die Insel so etwas wie ein vergessener Teil Spaniens. Jetzt fahren hier die Reisebusse ein und aus. Zum Gl\u00fcck halten sich alle an die Vorfahrtsregeln. Eine davon ist Urdabai, ein Naturschutzgebiet mit sch\u00f6nen Str\u00e4nden, V\u00f6geln, und bei Ebbe kann man hier \"waten\". Die Rundfahrt von Bermeo nach Geurnica ist wegen der sch\u00f6nen Aussichten ein Muss f\u00fcr jeden Radfahrer. Auf der anderen Seite k\u00f6nnen wir bereits Laida sehen und in der Bucht ist das Wasser wundersch\u00f6n blau. Eine perfekte <a href=\"https:\/\/atxarre.net\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Halt in Atxarre<\/a> F\u00fcr einen leckeren Bocadillo und einen Pintxo. Sobald man die K\u00fcste verl\u00e4sst, geht es bergauf. Es macht Sinn, dass das Baskenland gute Kletterer hervorbringt: Haimar Zubeldia, Mikel Landa und die Br\u00fcder Izagirre, Jon und Gorka. Guernica ist vielleicht das beste Beispiel daf\u00fcr. Ein Besuch im Baskenland bedeutet automatisch auch einen Besuch dieser Stadt, die am 26. April 1937 bombardiert wurde<strong><em>. <\/em><\/strong>Nach Ere\u00f1o, wo wir auf engen Stra\u00dfen bergauf fahren, geht es hinunter nach Guernica. Die Bilder am Rathaus und das Denkmal, ein Baumstamm, der die Bombardierung \u00fcberlebt hat, beeindrucken. Mit der Morga, dem Vivero und dem letzten Anstieg, dem Pike, liegt harte Arbeit vor uns. Der Anstieg zur Morga ist eher ein Aufw\u00e4rmtraining f\u00fcr die letzten beiden Anstiege. Es ist ein sch\u00f6ner Laufanstieg mit einem Durchschnitt von drei Prozent. Gegen Ende gibt es ein b\u00f6ses St\u00fcck, aber wenn man im Dorf ist, ist das schon wieder vergessen. Wir m\u00fcssen ein kurzes St\u00fcck Provinzstra\u00dfe \u00fcberwinden, um den Fu\u00df des Vivero zu erreichen. An einem undurchsichtigen Kreisverkehr sagt Komoot \"rechts abbiegen\". Bald darauf beginnt der Anstieg und das Navi wird sofort dunkelrot. Dies ist das Gebiet der Puncheure. Das ist eine echte Herausforderung, denn nach einer sanften Abfahrt ist 14% sofort eine Belastung f\u00fcr die Beine. Ich bin gespannt, wer sich hier am 1. Juli behaupten wird. Bei der Abfahrt ist noch etwas Vorsicht geboten. Die Arbeiten sind noch nicht ganz abgeschlossen und wir m\u00fcssen die Verankerungen treffen. Ein flacher Abschnitt von 10 Kilometern zum <strong>Hecht<\/strong>. Hier nimmt das Spiel richtig Fahrt auf. Der Aufstieg ist steil, wie der Keutenberg oder die Mauer von Huy. Der Anstieg durch das Wohngebiet t\u00e4uscht \u00fcber vieles hinweg. Oben angekommen, schenkt man der atemberaubenden Aussicht \u00fcber die Stadt kaum noch Beachtung. Das \u2018Bilbao-Schild\u2019 am Aussichtspunkt Artxanda ist ein sch\u00f6nes Fotomotiv. Wir rollen den Berg hinunter in Richtung <strong>Stadion San Mames<\/strong>. Eine wunderbare erste Runde durch das Baskenland.
