Kleine St\u00e4dte und D\u00f6rfer sind mit gr\u00fcnen Abschnitten durchsetzt, die kontinuierlich ansteigen und abfallen. Als die Fahrer des M\u00e4nnerfeldes die 3. Etappe der <a href=\"https:\/\/letour.euskadi.eus\/home\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Grand Depart<\/a> fahren, werden sie trotzdem schlucken. Nicht wegen der Sch\u00f6nheit oder wegen der rutschigen Stra\u00dfen, sondern vor allem wegen der \"versteckten\" H\u00f6henmesser. Die Ausblicke entlang der Strecke und die vielen begeisterten Unterst\u00fctzer machen sicher vieles wieder wett. Wenn ich die Strecken fahre, im April dieses Jahres, bin ich von der Sch\u00f6nheit \u00fcberw\u00e4ltigt. Ich schlie\u00dfe beim Radfahren f\u00fcr einen Moment die Augen und h\u00f6re die orangefarbene Menge, die '\u00a1Aupa! Der mehrfache Tour-Teilnehmer und Top-10-Finisher, Lokalmatador und vor allem Kenner aller Stra\u00dfen im Baskenland nimmt uns heute im Schlepptau. Zu Recht im Schlepptau, denn Haimar ist immer noch in Topform. Er f\u00e4hrt immer noch MTB-Rennen, trainiert fast t\u00e4glich und auch f\u00fcr seine Arbeit bei <a href=\"https:\/\/cutt.ly\/n2Byc2N\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Etxeondo<\/a> er wird regelm\u00e4\u00dfig nach dem \"Fahrradwagen\" abgesucht. In einem Lieferwagen, der etwas weiter weg steht, sehe ich jemanden, der die gleiche Suchbewegung macht. Haimar! Es folgt eine herzliche Begegnung. Auch <a href=\"https:\/\/cyclingdestination.cc\/de\/verhalen\/dagboek-baskenland-deel-2\/\">Letztes Jahr durfte ich <\/a>mit ihm radeln und ich erinnere mich immer noch gerne daran. Jetzt sind wir zur\u00fcck f\u00fcr den Grand Depart Baskenland. Wir 'kalten' Niederl\u00e4nder sind in kurzen Hosen, mit \u00c4rmeln und einem K\u00f6rper, der bereit ist, Rad zu fahren. Haimar tr\u00e4gt lange \u00c4rmel, Hosen mit Knieschonern, zus\u00e4tzliche \u00c4rmelschoner, ein langes Unterhemd und ich wei\u00df nicht, was noch. 'Es muy frio, no?' Wir denken, dass es nicht so schlimm ist. Wir trinken Kaffee und w\u00e4hrend wir die Fahrr\u00e4der vorbereiten, ert\u00f6nt ein Ruf von der Stra\u00dfe. 'HAIMAR!!!' Eine Frau mittleren Alters lehnt sich aus dem Fenster ihres Seat. Sie ruft einige unverst\u00e4ndliche Begriffe, aus denen ich nur den Vornamen unseres Reisebegleiters herauslesen kann. Er l\u00e4chelt und winkt. Sie ist aus meiner Heimatstadt\". Auf dem Weg dorthin m\u00fcssen wir zwei Anstiege bew\u00e4ltigen. F\u00fcr einen Amateur-Radfahrer wie mich ist das eine Herausforderung. Laut Haimar geht es nur darum, 'den Ausrei\u00dfer des Tages' entkommen zu lassen. Der Alto de Trabakua ist fast f\u00fcnf Kilometer lang und hat eine Steigung von 5,4 Prozent. Der Milloi ist mit weniger als zweieinhalb Kilometern und rund f\u00fcnf Prozent etwas k\u00fcrzer. Nachdem wir die schlafende Stadt hinter uns gelassen haben, rollen wir zun\u00e4chst an anderen Orten wie Durango vorbei. und den Trabakua befahren, merke ich, dass ich noch nicht die richtigen Beine f\u00fcr den Tag habe. Haimar und meine anderen Mitreisenden paddeln fr\u00f6hlich vor sich hin. Mir gef\u00e4llt das noch nicht. Haimar l\u00e4sst sich etwas zur\u00fcckfallen und deutet in die Ferne: \"Da ist die Fabrik von <a href=\"https:\/\/cutt.ly\/0wudQMKk\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Orbea<\/a>'. F\u00fcr mich ist das nach dem Trabakua mehr als gelungen. Ich vergesse fast, mich in der h\u00fcgeligen und gr\u00fcnen Landschaft umzusehen. Die Stra\u00dfen schl\u00e4ngeln sich hier zwischen den nat\u00fcrlichen Buckeln. Die Abfahrt vom Trabakua ist eine zum Einrahmen. Haimar \u00fcbernimmt die F\u00fchrung und wir sausen hinter ihm her. Die Stra\u00dfe ist super klar und der Tacho erreicht bald 80 Stundenkilometer. Die H\u00e4nde in die Steigb\u00fcgel und los geht's! So macht es Spa\u00df. Der Grand Depart Baskenland kann f\u00fcr mich gar nicht fr\u00fch genug kommen. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Milloi als letzte Beule<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Nach dem Abstieg folgt der Aufstieg zum Milloi. Auch dieser ist sch\u00f6n am Stra\u00dfenrand ausgeschildert. Oben angekommen, findet man die Zahlen und sieht, dass man ein bisschen mehr geben musste, als im Routenbuch angegeben. Man sp\u00fcrt den Anstieg auf fast zehn Prozent. Dass Haimar das alles locker verdaut, sagt schon alles. Er ist fit. Oben auf dem Milloi machen wir eine Pinkelpause. Jetzt kommt der beste Teil\", sagt Haimar. Ein sch\u00f6nes K\u00fcstenst\u00e4dtchen, aber wie alle K\u00fcstenst\u00e4dte hier haben sie eine Geschichte mit zwei Gesichtern. Der sch\u00f6ne Blick \u00fcber die Bucht und den Golf von Biskaya t\u00e4uscht \u00fcber die Geschichte hinweg, in der Drogen und der Unabh\u00e4ngigkeitskampf eine wichtige Rolle spielten. Haimar will nicht zu viel dar\u00fcber sagen, aber man sp\u00fcrt, dass es ihm wichtig ist. Viele junge Leben hier haben eine andere Wendung genommen, als Eltern und Angeh\u00f6rige es sich gew\u00fcnscht h\u00e4tten. Auch das ist das Baskenland. Jedenfalls machen wir hier ein paar sch\u00f6ne Fotos und genie\u00dfen vor allem die Sch\u00f6nheit der Stadt und die Aussicht. Keine Chance, k\u00f6nnte man sagen. Der st\u00e4mmige Baske, der uns zur\u00fcckh\u00e4lt, scheint das auch auszusprechen. Wir wenden uns an Haimar. Es folgt ein Gespr\u00e4ch mit dem Trauzeugen. Haimar erkl\u00e4rt, dass wir eine Gruppe von Journalisten sind, die den Ort erkunden. Der Mann lacht gerade noch \u00fcber ihn. Haha und ich bin der Papst, denke ich. Eines ist sicher, die Tour bekommt ein sch\u00f6nes St\u00fcck Asphalt. Es folgen noch einige Orte wie Ondorroa und Mutriku. Die sch\u00f6nen Ausblicke von hier unterbrechen den gr\u00fcnen Streifen entlang der K\u00fcste. Wir sind nun in <a href=\"https:\/\/cyclingdestination.cc\/de\/verhalen\/dagboek-baskenland-deel-2\/\">Haimars Hinterhof.<\/a> Er lebt in Zarautz und alle Wege f\u00fchren hierher. Je n\u00e4her er seinem Heimatort Zaurautz kommt, desto mehr strahlt er. Laut Haimar zu wenig, um das Peloton zu durchbrechen. In Zarautz lassen wir uns an der Promenade nieder. Die Sonne bricht durch und wir genie\u00dfen ein sch\u00f6nes, sp\u00e4tes Mittagessen. In diesem mond\u00e4nen Badeort l\u00e4sst es sich gut aushalten. Wir schie\u00dfen ein paar Fotos mit dem Lokalmatador und es f\u00e4llt uns auf, wie ruhig er sich hier bewegen kann. Keine Verr\u00fccktheit mit allen m\u00f6glichen Fotofragen. Sicherlich ist das wirklich Haimar Zubeldia, der regelm\u00e4\u00dfig im baskischen Fernsehen zu sehen ist. Ich wei\u00df noch aus dem letzten Jahr, dass das kein Spa\u00df ist. Auf die Spitze treiben, lautet die Devise. Haimar macht mir hier einen Strich durch die Rechnung: Au\u00dfenblatt, Mund zu und er paddelt an mir vorbei. Er kann sein Lachen kaum unterdr\u00fccken. Mann, Mann, vielen Dank! Aber Spa\u00df beiseite, das macht wirklich Spa\u00df. Keine gro\u00dfen Ank\u00fcndigungen, keine gro\u00dfen Baustellen. Als wir uns auf eine Tasse Kaffee und einen leckeren Kuchen im Oiartzun hinter dem Rathaus niederlassen, sehen wir das erste Bild. Ein gelbes Trikot, das am Rathaus h\u00e4ngt. Allerdings auf der R\u00fcckseite. Hier ist die Tour noch nicht gelandet. Von hier aus f\u00e4hrt das Peloton in Richtung franz\u00f6sische Grenze. Auf der dritten Etappe verlassen die Fahrer die <a href=\"https:\/\/cyclingdestination.cc\/de\/verhalen\/spanje\/baskenland\/grand-depart-baskenland-van-hoofdstad-vitoria-gasteiz-naar-san-sebastian\/\">Jaizkibel<\/a> bequemerweise zur\u00fcckgelassen. Noch eine Welle und eine Kurve und schon ist das Ziel in Bayonne in Sicht.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Genie\u00dfen im Hotel Arima<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Die vielen Radwege und die vielen Radfahrer verraten, dass das Baskenland das Fahrrad auch als Verkehrsmittel sch\u00e4tzt. Unser Aufenthalt im Arima Hotel &amp; Spa passt in dieses Bild. Die gr\u00f6\u00dfte kohlenstoffnegative Anlage Europas ist f\u00fcr Radfahrer ein zweites Zuhause.
