Helaas blijft de Puy de D\u00f4me zelf verboden terrein Beginnend in Orcines fiets je door de bossen, je vinkt bijna alle vulkanen (dat zijn er veel) en je krijgt zoveel mooie plaatjes voorgeschoteld. De unieke geologie (de vulkanische geschiedenis) van de regio maakt het fantastisch. Ga van start in Chouvigny fiets je langs de rivier met een prachtig uitzicht op de steile (overhangende) kliffen en de groene vallei. De route voert je langs charmante middeleeuwse dorpjes zoals \u00c9breuil en Charroux, waar je kunt stoppen voor een koffie en gelijk even een kijkje in de lokale geschiedenis kunt nemen. Dat ligt iets meer in het zuiden van de Auvergne. Ook hier zijn de vulkanen weer prominent aanwezig. Het klassieke kuuroord Le Mont-Dore is een mooie startplek. De route slingert door de bossen, langs de watervallen en naar de Col de la Croix-Morand. Bovenop kun je stoppen voor een goede lunch of koffie met iets lekkers. Uitzicht gegarandeerd! Je kunt starten in Saint-Gen\u00e8s-Champanelle of bijvoorbeeld vanuit Royat. Je fietst langs rustige wegen door de bossen, met af en toe een klimmetje. Je rijdt langs het meer, perfect voor een duik of picknick na de rit. De route biedt korte beklimmingen en prachtige uitzichten over het omliggende landschap. Je zou zeggen de perfecte brandstof voor fietsers. De slaperige dorpjes herbergen vaak heerlijke specialiteiten. Probeer echt eens een &#8217;truffade&#8217;, een soort dikke pannenkoek van aardappel. Die heb je in allerlei varianten. Een goede truffade wordt wel in ganzenvet gemaakt, dus voor de vegetariers en veganisten altijd even checken!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Als je ergens een mooi onderkomen zoekt, check dan even de <a href=\"https:\/\/nl.francevelotourisme.com\/accueil-velo\/accommodatie\">&#8216;Acceuil Velo&#8217;<\/a> website voor goede accomodaties waar je ook met je fiets terecht kunt. Ik heb zelf bij <a href=\"https:\/\/cutt.ly\/xeYdu1TH\">Huttopia in Royat<\/a> geslapen. Een luxe camping met veel voorzieninge, waaronder ook fietsverhuur. Er waren dan wel weer alleen e-mtb&#8217;s, maar het voordeel was wel dat er ook een sleutelset aanwezig was plus pomp. Je kon ook verderop op de camping je fiets even afspoelen. Ga je vanuit Orcines fietsen, dan heb je bijvoorbeeld<a href=\"https:\/\/nl.francevelotourisme.com\/accommodation\/lodgings-and-furnished-rentals\/la-bergerie-d-emile\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener sponsored nofollow\"> La Bergerie d&#8217;Emile<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">De cultuur van &#8216;koffietentjes&#8217; moet in Frankrijk nog een beetje landen.
