Hier deel ik waarom jij deze rit m\u00f3et fietsen\u2014and mind you, bring your sense of curiosity. Wel jammer dat ze voor de vorm niet naar een 80km route zijn gegaan. Al was het maar vanwege de verjaardag van &#8216;De Kannibaal.&#8217;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Waarom deze route jouw volgende uitdaging moet worden<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Sterk: 500m klimmen zonder lange beklimmingen<\/strong><br>Vlaams-Brabant op z&#8217;n best. Je hebt toch bijna 500 hoogtemeters onder de wielen, maar nergens heb je een beklimming die veel langer is dan een kilometer. Vlaams-Brabant is wat dat betreft vergelijkbaar met het Nederlands-Limburgse land, met die kanttekening dat je hier nog wel een kasseienstrookje krijgt voorgeschoteld.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Op de weg van de \u2018Kannibaal\u2019<\/strong><br>Vertrek zoals Merckx in <strong>Meensel-Kiezegem<\/strong>, waar zijn standbeeld en levendige mural je verwelkomen. Dit is een must visit voor elke fietser, die iets met de koers heeft. Je fietst letterlijk op de route waar Eddy zijn eerste rondjes maakte. Wie de fietsfolklore voelt, wordt hier echt geraakt.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Afwisselend landschap &amp; cultuur<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Oudenbos<\/strong>: een mooie beklimming.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Wijngaarden van Houwaart<\/strong>: Na beklimming van de Houwaertsberg pak je de wijnvelden mee. De  wijntraditie die stamt uit de vijfde eeuw maakt dit stukje Hageland een beetje \u2018Toscane light\u2019.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Kasteel Horst<\/strong>: stoer middeleeuws bouwwerk met diepe historische wortels<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Perfecte lus<\/strong><br>Prachtig asfalt, veelal autoluw en slechts een enkele onverharde stroken om . Rondrijden voelt moeiteloos dankzij duidelijke bordjes en uiteraard met de GPX bestanden die je hieronder kunt vinden.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"> Twee extra tips<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Haal extra hoogte met de Marollenkapel<\/strong><br>Maak een kleine omweg bij <strong>Hoegaarden<\/strong> voor een steil klimmetje (10\u201112\u202f%), gevolgd door een pauze met uitzicht op het Hageland. En als je er dan toch bent, dan is een bezoekje aan de brouwerij van <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/hoegaarden.com\/nl\/\">Hoegaarden<\/a><\/strong> geen slechte keus. Wel even de fiets op slot zetten en de cleat covers mee nemen. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Lunch bij de \u2018Wijnbank\u2019 op Houwaartse Berg<\/strong><br>Niet op de route? Fiets even terug: de \u2018Wijnbank\u2019\u2013een uitkijkpunt tussen de wijngaarden\u2013is perfect om je benen te strekken en een lokaal glaasje wijn te proeven.
