De Stelvio blijft open voor fietsers en individueel gemotoriseerd verkeer. S\u00fcdtirol<\/a> verbiedt voortaan wel georganiseerde motorevenementen op tientallen bergwegen in beschermde gebieden en boven 1.600 meter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

De provinciale regering in Bolzano nam het besluit op 19 juni 2026. De maatregel geldt onder meer rond de Stelvio<\/strong>, Jaufenpas<\/strong>, Timmelsjoch<\/strong> en de route rond het Sellamassief. Ook toegangswegen naar natuurparken, de Dolomieten en andere beschermde gebieden kunnen eronder vallen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Volgens de provincie Zuid-Tirol<\/a> moeten de regels lawaai, uitstoot, extra verkeer en veiligheidsrisico\u2019s terugdringen. Ze sluiten aan bij de duurzaamheidsstrategie voor 2030 en het klimaatplan voor 2040.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ook niet-competitieve evenementen vallen onder het verbod<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Het verbod geldt voor races met tijdwaarneming, maar ook voor niet-competitieve bijeenkomsten en evenementen die vooral als entertainment worden georganiseerd. Dat geldt voor auto\u2019s, motoren en tractoren, ongeacht hun aandrijving.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

De grens tussen een verboden evenement en een toegestane groepsrit is nog niet helemaal helder. MotoPlus<\/a> schrijft dat een herkenbare organisatiestructuur genoeg kan zijn. Daardoor zouden ook begeleide tours of clubritten met een vast ontmoetingspunt onder de regels kunnen vallen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Speedweek<\/a> hanteert een uitleg die minder ruimte laat voor interpretatie. Volgens die lezing zijn commerci\u00eble organisatie en betaling aan een organisator belangrijke kenmerken, terwijl ritten van vrienden of verenigingen als priv\u00e9verkeer kunnen gelden. De praktijk moet uitwijzen waar de provincie de grens legt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Geen verkeersvrije Stelvio<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

De bekende haarspeldbochten van de Stelvio blijven dus toegankelijk voor motoren en auto\u2019s. Individuele weggebruikers mogen de betrokken passen blijven rijden. Het verbod richt zich uitsluitend op georganiseerde evenementen. Dat is an sich al heel erg fijn. We hebben zelf vaak genoeg gemerkt dat een motorclub voor een fietser een gevaarlijke mede weggebruiker is. Veel show, onverwachte bewegingen en vooral hinder. Met name bergaf adn.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ook vergunningsaanvragen die op 19 juni nog niet waren afgerond, worden volgens de nieuwe regels beoordeeld. Bij overtredingen kan de provincie een bestuurlijke boete opleggen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Provinciepresident Arno Kompatscher zei dat het verbod de problemen op de paswegen niet alleen zal oplossen. De overheid werkt daarom aan aanvullende maatregelen tegen druk verkeer en roekeloos rijgedrag.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

De Zuid-Tiroolse Alpenvereniging steunt de stap, maar motororganisaties en touroperators hebben kritiek. Zij vrezen dat ook gewone begeleide toertochten worden geraakt. Sommige aanbieders zeggen dat zulke ritten 30 tot 40 procent van hun zomeromzet opleveren.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

De nieuwe regels raken wedstrijden, rally\u2019s en mogelijk ook begeleide toertochten.
