Die Surrey Hills, ein \"Gebiet von au\u00dfergew\u00f6hnlicher nat\u00fcrlicher Sch\u00f6nheit\", waren pl\u00f6tzlich voller Bilder. W\u00e4hrend der Olympischen Spiele in London wurden der Box Hill und die Zig Zag Road zu Orten, die jeder unbedingt besuchen wollte. Danach wuchs der mythische Status dieses Anstiegs und damit der Region noch weiter. Das verdanken wir dem \"London Circuit\" auf der Online-Plattform <a href=\"http:\/\/www.zwift.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Zwift<\/a> sondern zum Beispiel auch f\u00fcr die Aufnahme in den Prudential Ride. Vom Zentrum Londons aus ist man mit der U-Bahn in k\u00fcrzester Zeit in dieser h\u00fcgeligen Region. Wir machen uns auf die Suche nach diesem Berg und den nahe gelegenen M\u00f6glichkeiten. Die letztgenannte Stadt liegt etwa eine Stunde au\u00dferhalb des Londoner Zentrums, w\u00e4hrend Leatherhead 10 Minuten fr\u00fcher zu erreichen ist. Von Leatherhead aus k\u00f6nnen Sie die olympische Rennstrecke mit dem ber\u00fchmten Box Hill-Anstieg befahren. Es empfiehlt sich auf jeden Fall, auf dem Gipfel des Box HIll einen Fotostopp einzulegen und eine Weile die Aussicht zu genie\u00dfen. Der Anstieg selbst ist \"nur\" 2,5 Kilometer lang und kann mit einem Durchschnittswert von 5% auch nicht mit La Redoute oder einem anderen Anstieg in der <a href=\"https:\/\/cyclingdestination.cc\/de\/stories\/lekker-trainen-in-de-belgische-ardennen\/\">Ardennen.<\/a> Dennoch ist er der beliebteste Anstieg in der Region, und mit 129 H\u00f6henmetern ist er sicher nicht zu verachten. Die urspr\u00fcngliche Strecke verl\u00e4uft s\u00fcdlich von Leatherhead und ist 16 Kilometer lang. Die h\u00fcgelige Landschaft bietet viele sch\u00f6ne Aussichten. Vor allem im Sommer und w\u00e4hrend der \"goldenen Stunde\" bieten sich hier fantastische Fotomotive. Lassen Sie sich auch nicht davon t\u00e4uschen, dass es sich nur um eine 60-Kilometer-Rundreise handelt, denn wenn Sie von Leatherhead aus nach S\u00fcden fahren und die richtigen Wege w\u00e4hlen, werden Sie bald 1000 H\u00f6henmeter auf dem Z\u00e4hler haben. Das werden Sie auf jeden Fall zu sp\u00fcren bekommen. Bei einer Rundfahrt von fast 70 Kilometern erreichen Sie auch die North Downs. Hier gibt es auch den sch\u00f6nen Barhatch Lane-Anstieg. Das Schild am Fu\u00df des Anstiegs deutet bereits an, dass dies kein Spa\u00df ist, und bei 21% werden Sie hier echte Schmerzen haben. In der White Down Lane, die ebenfalls zu dieser Route geh\u00f6rt, werden Sie ebenfalls erst Schmerzen und dann Spa\u00df erleben. Ein weiterer Pluspunkt: Diese Region ist wirklich sehr ruhig, was Radfahrer angeht. Sie werden hier fast keine Menschen antreffen. Dies steht im Gegensatz zum Box Hill. Das war in den Jahren 2019 und 2020 immer noch der belebteste und einer der belebtesten Abschnitte auf Strava.
