Van het hoge noorden naar het zonnige zuiden, over de Alpen, door wereldsteden en langs UNESCO-werelderfgoed. Klinkt fantastisch toch? En het kan, zonder dat je zelf weken bezig bent met het plannen van een route! In dit artikel vertellen we je meer over <a href=\"https:\/\/en.eurovelo.com\/\">EuroVelo,<\/a> een routenetwerk van duizenden kilometers door heel Europa. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cyclingdestination.cc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/2024_EuroVeloSchematicMap-nologo-907x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-14362\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\"><em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.eurovelo.com\">EuroVelo<\/a>, the European cycle route network &#8211; 2024<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Wat is Eurovelo?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">EuroVelo is een netwerk van 17 langeafstandsfietsroutes verspreid over heel Europa. De routes doorkruisen verschillende landen en zijn samen 90.000 kilometer lang. De kortste route is \u2018slechts\u2019 2050 kilometer en de langste is meer dan 11.000 kilometer. Je fietst dan langs bijna de gehele westkust van Europa; van de Noordkaap via Engeland en Ierland naar Portugal. Wow!&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">De routes zijn gemaakt en goedgekeurd door de European Cyclists\u2019 Federation. EuroVelo moet ervoor zorgen dat er meer goede fietspaden over het hele continent komen en Europese burgers aanmoedigen om de fiets te pakken. Zoals je waarschijnlijk kunt voorstellen, is dit geen project dat binnen een handomdraai is geregeld. Sommige stadia van de routes zijn helemaal af en zelfs aangegeven met bordjes. Maar andere delen van de routes worden op dit moment aangelegd of staan zelfs nog op de planning om aangelegd te worden.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter size-large is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cyclingdestination.cc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/IMG_5978-576x1024.jpg\" alt=\"eurovelo 12\" class=\"wp-image-14356\" style=\"width:341px;height:auto\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\"><em>Eurovelo 12 &#8211; North Sea in Zeeuws-Vlaanderen<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Waar vind ik EuroVelo routes in Nederland?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Voor Nederlanders valt er vlakbij huis best wel wat te kiezen. Maar liefst vier routes doorkruizen ons landje:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/en.eurovelo.com\/ev12\/points-of-interest-on-eurovelo-12\">Noordzee route<\/a>: Honderden kilometers plezier langs de kust. Van Retranchement in Zeeuws-Vlaanderen tot Bad-Nieuweschans in Groningen. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/en.eurovelo.com\/ev19\/from-namur-to-roermond-through-cultural-heritage-and-the-maas-country\">Maasroute<\/a>: Trappen langs een van de belangrijkste rivieren van Europa. Begin in hartje Rotterdam en ontdek de Maasvlakte op de fiets. Ook bezoek je steden als Dordrecht, Den Bosch, Venlo en Maastricht. In het zuiden kun je je versnellingen goed gebruiken, want je komt ook door het Limburgse heuvellandschap.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/en.eurovelo.com\/ev15\">Rijnroute<\/a>: Van Hoek van Holland via Rotterdam, Wageningen, Arnhem tot Millingen aan de Rijn.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/en.eurovelo.com\/ev2\/points-of-interest-on-eurovelo\">Hoofdstedenroute<\/a>: Deze route verbindt Dublin, Londen, Berlijn, Warsaw, Minsk en Moskou. En daarvoor slaan we onze eigen hoofdstad over. Ook bij deze route begin je in &#8211; hoe kan het ook anders &#8211; in Hoek van Holland. D\u00e9 plek die Nederland en Engeland met elkaar verbindt. Via Den Haag en Utrecht fiets je richting Arnhem. In de Achterhoek in de buurt van Groenlo ga je de grens over.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Droom met ons mee<\/h1>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Wij dromen alvast van de <a href=\"https:\/\/en.eurovelo.com\/ev8\">Mediterrane route<\/a>: 7350 kilometer door 10 landen en langs 23 UNESCO plekken. Smaragdgroene zee\u00ebn, kilometers goudkleurig zand, heerlijk eten en eeuwenoude steden. Wij zien onszelf al langs de grachten van Veneti\u00eb fietsen, het Alhambra in Granada bezoeken en op een terras zitten in de oude binnenstad van Dubrovnik. Voor welke route kies jij?
