Cycling destinations with almost 100% sun guarantee. Well, a guarantee to the letter, you could say. In Europe there are a number of destinations that are popular all year round. In winter, you can simply cycle in shorts; in the summer, you can take advantage of the day's hours and take a siesta in between. So you don't have to come home dripping wet and sweaty, like in <a href=\"https:\/\/cyclingdestination.cc\/en\/stories\/12-reasons-why-you-should-just-go-on-a-cycling-holiday-in-the-netherlands\/\">Netherlands<\/a>. We\u2019ll add five more destinations that would be perfect. So here are 5 destinations for a perfect cycling holiday. Of course, you can also go there for a longer stay, but shorter is better!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Girona<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This top location should not be missing on our list of 5 destinations for a perfect cycling holiday. Girona is well known for its climate, its proximity to the mountains, and the huge cycling culture that has developed there (in recent years). Pros use it as a training and base camp (Robert Gesink has lived there for a long time), and you can literally find beautiful cycling routes everywhere. If you want to measure your elevation gain, the Pyrenees are at your feet. There are also plenty of cycling routes that are only slightly hilly. On the gravel bike, Girona is nowadays a hotspot, with many kilometers of unpaved roads. An added bonus: cycling in the mountains in the morning and you can go to the beach in the afternoon (because it\u2019s not too far away). In the region itself, autumn is also a special time, because it\u2019s the time of \u2018T\u00f6rggelen\u2019. In short: lots of delicious food where chestnuts are at the center of everything. The locals consider this a really important moment. You can get around here on a bike (that\u2019s what we wrote <a href=\"\/en\/stories\/why-you-should-cycle-the-giro-delle-dolomiti-in-bolzano\/\">Previously<\/a> al) but it\u2019s also stunning here on the gravel bike. Although many underestimate it, it is a wonderful place to spend time here. You can enjoy wonderful cycling in the Gargano on the northern side of this Italian province. Follow the green coastal line and enjoy the surroundings. Further inland you can, for example, visit the \u2018Trulli\u2019 houses in Alberobello or Locorotondo, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Along the coast itself, you can cover long distances with a pleasant sea breeze. The only drawback of this province is the sometimes poor condition of the roads. That, however, presents opportunities for the real adventurers on the gravel bike. There is plenty of choice there too, because <a href=\"\/en\/stories\/italy\/puglia-the-pearl-of-southern-italy\/\">Puglia<\/a> It is large. It runs from Foggia all the way to Brindisi and Lecce. Great advantage: it is still quite undiscovered, so you won't meet many other cyclists. Good tip for bike rental: <a data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"www.thebikes.it\" href=\"http:\/\/www.thebikes.it\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">The Bikes<\/a> in Fasano. And not without reason. Good weather, good roads, plenty of variety and the advantage: in autumn it\u2019s less crowded than in, for example, summer, when the island is swamped with mostly young Germans, English people and also Dutch people. Eye-catchers on this island are the climb to Puig Major, the route to <a href=\"\/en\/stories\/cycling-in-mallorca-diary-part-iii\/\">Cap Formentor<\/a> and the descent (and then the climb) from Sa Calobra. By now, you can also get by just fine on a gravel bike. In the interior, there are plenty of unpaved roads to enjoy a fun adventure.
