Ik voelde een enorme drive om betere reiscontent te gaan publiceren. Met betrouwbare informatie over bestemmingen. Met meer bestemmingen. Met van alles. Een drive die ik niet kon beteugelen en die ik ook niet kwijt kon bij andere partijen. Dit alles leidde pas in 2021 tot de echte lancering van de site. Het eerste artikel staat gedateerd op juni 2021. Zo zie je maar. In die jaren erna is er zo veel veranderd. Het design, de insteek, de explorers (schrijvers). Mooie momenten, mooie reizen, bijzondere bestemmingen. We hebben nog niet eens het tipje van de ijsberg ge zien. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Op twee wielen<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We gaan graag de wereld in. Op twee wielen. Op zoek naar mooie plekken. Naar klassieke bestemmingen. Naar mooie verhalen en bijzondere ontmoetingen. Als je kijkt naar onze content dan zijn we sterk in Europa, maar kan het absoluut nog beter. En kunnen we nog zoveel meer zoeken aan de randen van dit continent en daarbuiten. Maar voor nu ben ik, Sander, heel trots op wat we met z&#8217;n allen hebben bereikt. Daarom heb ik nu een 5-tal verhalen gekozen die ik opnieuw wil uitlichten. Die voor mij van speciale betekenis zijn of gewoon omdat ik het tof vind. Deel jouw comments, like ons op de verschillende social kanalen. Op naar de miljoen. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Top 5 verhalen &#8211; Zwitserland<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Mijn liefde voor Zwitserland is van nul naar 100 gegaan. Het verhaal over de beklimming van Barrage d&#8217;Emosson is voor mij heel speciaal. Het is voor mij het begin van Cycling Destination. Het planten van een zaadje. Op de top, op de dam met zich op de Mont Blanc werd ik overmand door emoties. Na een aantal moeilijke jaren qua werk en priv\u00e9 stond ik daar. In de bergen. In de zon. Met een paar bijzondere mensen om mij heen. Ik kon het eigenlijk niet kwijt, maar ik moest er wel mee dealen. Op vakantie in Oostenrijk, in 1998, gingen we naar deze stad in Noord-Itali\u00eb. Mijn liefde voor de taal en het land is daar, op dat moment ontstaan. Ik ging al vele malen terug. Zowel met de fiets als gewoon voor vakantie. Ik leerde de taal (dank Duolingo) en ik was er thuis. Maar in 2020 en daarna werd Bolzano ineens werk. De cirkel is en was rond. In 2020 mocht ik mee op media trip. Voor het eerst naar Stoanerne Mandl. Zo uniek en bijzonder. In 2021 deed ik een dagje Giro Dolomiti en in 2022 en 2023 ging ik er weer gravelen. Het is een bijzondere omgeving. Een stad tussen de bergen. Ik maakte meerdere artikelen over deze stad. In de afgelopen jaren heb ik bijna alle provincies van Nederland doorgereden met de fiets. Brabant, Limburg, Gelderland, Drenthe, Friesland, Zeeland, Flevoland. You name it. Bijna allemaal hebben ze een eigen signatuur. Een eigen schoonheid. De waddenregio, die in principe de kust van Noord-Holland, Friesland en Groningen bestrijkt, is uniek. In 2022 gingen we drie dagen fietsen door het Waddengebied. Wat ik zag was bijzonder. De mensen die we ontmoetten waren warm (en soms wat kort van stof) en vriendelijk. Ik leerde dat vlak terrein ook schitterend kan zijn. Dat je moet werken met de omstandigheden. In 2022 mochten we richting Baskenland voor een bijzonder avontuur. 6 dagen fietsen in de regio. Ondergedompeld worden in alles wat dit merk zo bijzonder maakt. De familie, de medewerkers, het eten en drinken. Oh ja, veel eten en drinken. Voor vegetariers is het Baskenland een onvriendelijke omgeving. De regio is ruig, heuvelachtig. De setting is soms zo bijzonder dat je vergeet dat je in Spanje bent. Maar de liefde voor de regio, de mensen en dus de &#8216;Etxe Ondo&#8217; is groot. In 2023 gingen we nogmaals, als onderdeel van onze campagne met het <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tourspain.es\/consejerias\/la-haya\/nl\/\">Spaans Verkeersbureau<\/a>. Alles voor de Tourstart. Zoveel mooie content, dat we bijna niet kunnen kiezen. Dat kan in <a href=\"https:\/\/cyclingdestination.cc\/en\/stories-2\/luxembourg-cycling-country\/\">Luxembourg<\/a>. Mooie vergezichten, pittige klimmetjes. En dat op minder dan 6 uur rijden van Utrecht. We zijn veel naar het groothertogdom geweest. Voor verschillende ritjes. In 2022 was het een combinatie van een fotoshoot als ook een explorer ride. Twee dagen waren meer dan genoeg om te genieten van de &#8216;velos\u00fcmmer&#8217; en de mooie omgeving. Zelfs met een kleine valpartij was het nog schitterend.
