The region of Valencia, has with Moraira a beautiful cycling hotspot on the Costa Blanca. Partly due to the arrival of many professional teams and riders, such as Mathieu van der Poel and Remco Evenepoel, it is a renowned cycling area just over 10 kilometres from Calpe<\/a>. A name that will be familiar to many a cyclist. Cycling in Spain is fantastic anyway. On this page you will find experiences of cycling in the region, based on a trip in spring. We have supplemented the information with tips and tricks on our Cycling in Alicante<\/a> page. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Costa Blanca<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Moraira is thus close to Calpe, on the Costa Blanca in the province of Alicante<\/a>. We previously wrote about this wonderful region<\/a> where many a pro runs his preparation kilometres for the new season. One of the highlights of this region is the Coll de Rates. This climb has some wonderful hairpin turns and you can really enjoy the beautiful scenery there. We will definitely climb this col one day!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Day 1: Just exploring<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Actually day 2. But because storm Corrie caused a three-hour delay, cycling was out of the question on the first day. After spending the first part of the day recovering in the sun from waiting at the airport in Rotterdam, we set off for an introductory mat the nearby area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
