Central location<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

What many forget is that Crans-Montana is super-central in the canton of Valais. You can head east through the valley towards Leukerbad or west towards Sion and Aigle. After a long day, you can finish with the climb up to the Col de Crans-Montana, but you can also enjoy taking the gondola up. For free, with the SBB Swiss Travel pass. The bike is free anyway and you can easily take it on board<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Out of the ordinary<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Crans-Montana<\/a> is its best-kept secret. It has everything of a classic cycling destination, but with more tranquillity and stunning panoramic views. Did we also mention that the air here is a lot fresher than elsewhere? You're also a bit at altitude, around 1,400 metres. The best-kept secret of the region around Crans-Montana is the Col du Sanetsch<\/a>. The what? Yes, that Col du Sanetsch. We already got to climb it once in 2020 and it is a monster of stature. But a monster with a good heart. Because at the top sits perhaps the best restaurant in such a location. The 'Ta Cave' that sits there should be on your bucket list. More beautiful mountains<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

If the Sanetsch is not yet challenging enough, you can also climb the beautiful Barrage de Moiry in the immediate vicinity. The climb to this reservoir is high on our wish list when we are in June in Crans-Montana are<\/a>. The climb to the Col de la Forclaz and Barrage d'Emosson<\/a> are absolutely stunning experiences with the view on top of Emosson, towards Mont Blanc being a must. Climbing the Col du Grand-Saint-Bernard is also one for the bucket list.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
