Part of Netherlands
Zeeland is the province of water. The islands are connected to each other by dams and the Delta Works, so you can cycle from Walcheren via the Oosterscheldekering to Schouwen-Duiveland, with the sea on both sides.
Why cycle in Zeeland?
- The Delta Works, with the Oosterscheldekering as the most impressive piece.
- Walcheren: dunes, Veere, Middelburg and the seaside resorts.
- Schouwen-Duiveland: Zierikzee, the Brouwersdam and the dunes of the Cape of Schouwen.
- Zeeland-Vlaanderen: dykes, creeks and unpaved border roads towards Belgium.
- And after the ride: mussels, oysters and Zeeuwse bolussen.
When are you leaving?
From April to October. The wind is always a factor here: plan a trip with the wind in mind.
How do you get there?
By train to Goes, Middelburg or Vlissingen, or by car in about two hours from the Randstad.
This is how we calculate: We calculate distances and travel times starting from Utrecht. Our flights always depart from Schiphol, Rotterdam The Hague Airport or Eindhoven Airport.
