Cycling enthusiasts take note: Greece is the new hotspot on the map of cycling destinations! This may sound a bit exaggerated, but our own experiences underline this. Not only are we convinced by this beautiful region, we will also actively promote it. GNTO, the Greek National Tourism Organisation, and CyclingDestination are joining forces to put Greece better on the map as a cycling destination. Whether you like quiet tours along the coastline or challenging mountain passes, cycling in Greece offers something for everyone. Discover the hidden treasures of the Peloponnese, cycle along the historical routes of Crete, experience the breathtaking views of the Cyclades or the beautiful, undiscovered north.
Highlighting regions
In this collaboration, Cycling Destination and the GNTO are going to highlight some destinations in Greece that you might consider for your next cycling adventure. Cycling in Greece undeniably means dealing with the heat. That in itself is not a problem, if you also take our tips for cycling in the heat take away. Among others, we will highlight the Peloponnese, where summers can certainly be hot, but where the edges of the season are perfect for a cycling holiday.
Even after our experiences cycling in the north of Greece, this destination has entered our new top three cycling destinations with a bullet. The mountains, Lake Prespa, the hidden beauty of Nymfeio. It's all wonderful to discover when cycling in Greece.
