While the men have just started the Tour of Italy, which this year starts in almost neighbouring Hungary. In terms of tricolour, they do get along. It is in any case unique that this year all three grand tours start in a country other than the home country. Naturally, Utrecht is the proud host of the Vuelta and Denmark, with Copenhagen as its landmark, is hosting 'Le Grand Départ'. We are the lucky ones who get to explore all the Tour de France routes in the Danish country in advance next week. We will be following in the footsteps of the Tour with Cycling Destination!

Copenhagen - Roskilde - Nyborg - Vejle - Sønderborg

The pros, I should explicitly mention these days that these are the men, set off for a time trial through the city. Stage 1 takes the peloton with a nice diversions to the finish in Nyborg, just over the Great Belt Bridge. Then the second stage is between Vejle (pronounced Weile) and Sønderborg. A great showcase for the country and its cycling opportunities. The island Fyn comes off a bit shabby. I guess it had to do with money.

Trip report

From Monday, you will find an update with a nice trip report every day here. We will trek along the same route as the pros in several stages, although unfortunately we cannot cross the bridge by bike. That is reserved for the men's peloton. If you still want to experience that: on 11 June, the 'Tour de Størebelt'. You can then drive over the beautiful Belt Bridge for a day. It is worth considering. In any case, we will keep you updated and will be the first to share the best tips. Are you reading along again?

Trip routes

Here you will find the routes we ride. If you go to Denmark yourself, you can also get some inspiration here. Especially the part towards Roskilde and then on to Nyborg is beautiful. Jutland is a great place to be. The Pedaleurs discussed in their midlife gravel ride as well. Have fun cycling in 'the land of everyday cycling!'
