Koerspret goes America - America
Peter Koning knows his stuff. He has raced many kilometres himself and with his Koerspret beer he knows how to strike the right chord. This also translates to the events he organises. Last year (2022), he made a first move with Gravelpret and this year he is going to Heading to America! An American-style event from 14-17 April 2023. Limburg, the land of gravel and sand, is at your feet. Beautiful routes and enough challenge to enjoy all days.
Graveller Drenthe - Veluwe
When organiser Carola Groeneveld started working with Ellen Brunninkhuis on the Graveller adventure, they did not expect to pull off a wonderful festival in a short time. The first edition (corona limited) was immediately full and edition two was also a winner. With events in both Drenthe and the Veluwe (the original), you can almost be sure that you are in the right place. The routes lead over well-known and lesser-known gravel paths and you can completely immerse yourself in the gravel atmosphere at the overnight stops. Campfire, music, burgers. All the tick marks check. Graveller Drenthe is 9-11 June, Graveller Veluwe is 26-27 August. Tickets for Graveller Drenthe are €189.
Gravel Valley - Ommen
Piet van der Velde is a local when it comes to Overijssel. With his brand ERE Research, he not only develops products for all types of cyclists (race and gravel mainly) but knows the region around Ommen like the back of his hand. Not surprisingly, his first edition of Gravel Valley (9-11 June 2023) in his backyard. Not really, of course, but proverbially. This new gravel event in the Netherlands targets the true adventurer. As with Graveller, you can also bring your tent and enjoy several days of scenery, routes and atmosphere. Tickets are relatively cheap at €150 for the weekend.
Limburg Challenge - Swalmen
That Limburg also lends itself well to gravel, we know better and better by now. In Swalmen, too, they have picked up on that and the Limburg Challenge has added a gravel edition in addition to an MTB tour. With a north route and a south route, on Saturday and Sunday, you will be the new gravel king of Limburg at the end of the weekend. This event is also all about the atmosphere, with a nice bbq, a fine reception on Friday and all the services you would expect from a gravel event in the Netherlands. After the weekend, you will also be just €149 poorer, but a great experience richer!
Gravel Path Alphen
If you have nothing to do in October, don't wait any longer and head straight to Gravel Path's site. This new event, from brewery Boslust in Alphen, Noord-Brabant (yes, idd from Alphen-Chaam) also offers you another three days of fun. An arrival day with a nice welcome and a short gravel ride, at the weekend two days of gravel fun on the bike and of course beer will not be a problem here. The Green Egg BBQ will be on and with the campfire the stories will come naturally. Enjoyment on two wheels at this new event, although the first edition is always a bit of a wait and see. Cost for 3 days / 2 nights: €195
