In the category Cycling Destination Approved you will find restaurants (yes, even hotels 😉 that have received our ‘Cycling Destination Approved’ label. That said, they must meet a number of standards and therefore rank highly on our list when booking a cycling holiday or adventure. When creating a route, we prefer to choose routes that pass by coffee shops where we cyclists are welcome, for example at well-known cycling cafés or well-known bicycle hotels. In this category we can now also add Alaïa Lodge in Crans-Montana. What a beautiful place and ideal for your adventure in Crans-Montana Let's get started. We'll take you to this location.

Alaïa Lodge in Crans-Montana: the hotel

By now we have already been to the hotel twice. Alaïa Lodge We had been staying here for four years in a row. The hotel is located right in the center and has its own parking lot. There is an Italian restaurant (Viva Voce) under the hotel. The hotel itself is very warm and modern inside. It offers a wonderful place for both winter sports enthusiasts and cyclists (gravel, MTB and race bike). There is a special ‘bike room’ where you can store your bikes. In the winter this is the place where ski equipment and other gear can be stored. That is already a big plus.

A smile makes all the difference

What we also find important is the friendliness of the staff. Of course, we visit the tourism office, but nevertheless we (in our opinion) are treated just like everyone else. When checking in, we notice that everyone is very relaxed. We just have a chat and the team is also helpful with all kinds of advice for our stay.

Spacious rooms

The rooms are spacious; there is a double bed with a desk and most importantly, a view of the mountains! For a room in a Swiss hotel, the rooms are really spacious. The bathroom is spotless and equipped with every comfort. Just like downstairs, a warm, modern decor has been chosen here as well. All your bike gear is also taken care of; the (open) wardrobe has various compartments to give your bike gear its place.

The beds are very comfortable and if you share a room with a friend who rides a bike, you can easily separate the beds. And the balcony invites you to enjoy the sunshine.

The inner person also wants something.

Did we already talk about breakfast? No, right? The breakfast is very extensive and you won’t be left wanting for anything. Every day you have a choice of many fresh breads, croissants or toast. In addition, there are fresh fruit juices, yogurt, fruit and nuts, cruësli/muesli and also oatmeal. A good cup of coffee makes it complete and you won’t be short of a good start to your day. Especially if you, like us, climb the mountains every day, a good varied and healthy breakfast is very welcome. As well as the dinner at Viva Voce at the end of the day. Delicious pizzas and pastas are served here. The staff is also extremely friendly. You’re right in the middle of a wine region, so the wines are of top quality too. The pasta with seafood we’d like to take with us in the car now.

Is there anything wrong with that?

Yes. There is still room for improvement. Still, this one is quite high up the list. We still lack a dedicated rinsing area. We could have worked with the mobile Kärcher in the parking lot now, and that could have been done closer to the hotel, but there is still something to be done here. We understand that there is now also a key set, so that makes it complete. Then the hotel could also become a ‘Bike friendly‘ hotel according to the Swiss standards.

In short, if you are looking for a hotel near Crans Montana for your cycling tour. Then Alaïa Lodge Truly Cycling Destination Approved!
