Surface area
The Netherlands is flat with only a few places in the country having hilly terrain.
Popular cycling regions are Zuid-Limburg, where at 322m the highest mountain in the country is located, the Vaalserberg. This is also the tripoint with Belgium and Germany.
Other popular destinations are Drenthe, where the terrain is mostly flat, but where the Dwingelderveld, the VAM Berg, and the MTB routes around Norg attract many visitors.
In the Achterhoek too, many kilometers are covered on the slightly sloping landscape.
In addition, many race cyclists will want to conquer the Amerang Berg, on the Utrecht Heuvelrug. In this area, there are a number of shorter hills that will evoke that foreign feeling.
