With gravity cycling gaining momentum at a peak, you can see that more and more multi-day gravity events are springing up. From a nice weekend of gravel riding in the Eifel, to real week-long adventures (or longer). All in all, there is plenty of choice for enthusiastic gravity riders who would like to tick off a multi-day gravity event in Europe and come home with stories to tell. To get you in the mood for 2025, we have selected some great events for you. Where will you go next year?
Bohemian Border Bash
When you say multi-day gravel events, Bohemian Border Bash can’t be missing. Vendelín Ondřej Veselý is the organizer of the Bohemian Border Bash Camp, a multi-day gravel event on the border between Germany and the Czech Republic. You actually have a collection of events, because besides this ‘Camp’, you also have the Bohemian Border Bash Race and you have the Border Bash Aragón. The latter is of course not in the ‘Bohemia’, but in Spain. If you participate in the camp, you can prepare yourself for everything that makes gravel so beautiful. The routes in the region are amazing, the atmosphere is laid-back and you can choose accommodations that vary between ‘basic’ and ‘basic plus’. The Traka – Girona
Girona Girona is an ideal cycling destination. The top professional riders set up camp there, or spend their training camp. Because Girona is all about cycling and cycling is Girona. This also proves that it is the perfect base for a gravel weekend, as shown by ‘The Traka Girona‘ . As part of the Gravel Earth Series, this four-day event is one of the better events in Europe. There are various routes and options for different levels. It’s a limited event, with the ‘ultra distance’ riders having priority. You also have to show that you can handle this. What do you get in return? A lot of beautiful routes and views. For the 560km variant, you do need to take a few days off, but that was exactly the intention. Oh yeah, this one is also self-sufficient, worth noting.
Gravel Tro Breizh
Bretaña never disappoints. At least, if you go for really challenging cycling routes. On the road bike you already find the ‘Tro Bro Leon’, but the Gravel Tro Breizh is also a multi-day gravel event that you would like to add to your list. The event takes you through the trails and small roads of this French region between land and sea. Every year the route is completely redesigned. This year (2025) the 1300 km route with 13000+ meters of elevation gain has to be completed within less than 180 hours (7 days and 12 hours).
Starting from Lac de Tremelin in the heart of the mythical forest of Brocéliande, you crisscross Brittany with its great variety of terrains and landscapes. There is an area never explored before: the countryside of Morbihan and the valley of the Blavet. There is a loop to the west and there you will find the famous ‘wild coast of Brittany’ that offers views over the Atlantic Ocean. Are you ready? Then go quickly to the site of organizer Erminig.
Grinduro
Grinduro is an umbrella for multiple, multi-day gravel events in Europe and the USA. The events in 2025 are planned in Italy, Scotland, California, Japan and South Africa. The Grinduro events are a beautiful mix of real races and a ‘party atmosphere’. Not for nothing do they call them the perfect party-to-race ratio. An advantage of these events is that you are in one fixed location and from there you go for three days of gravel riding. That is therefore a bit different from a real multi-day gravel/bikepacking tour. More information about participation, locations, routes etc. can be found on the site of Grinduro.
Tuscany Trail
Want to discover the white roads of Tuscany at your own pace? Then the Tuscany Trail is a must-try. It calls itself the largest bike touring and gravel event in the world, but it’s not a competition: you follow a GPX track of about 460 kilometers with 5,900 meters of elevation gain and decide for yourself how fast you ride. On average, participants take four days to complete it. For those who want to take it easy, there’s a Newbie route of 160 kilometers. Along the way, there are base camps, partner accommodations, and mechanics along the route. More than half of the participants are taking part in a bike touring event for the first time.
The next edition will be from 19 to 25 May 2027, starting in Campiglia Marittima and for the first time an optional detour over the island of Elba. Registration opens on 3 December 2026. More info at tuscanytrail.it.
Nature is Bike – Angers
Last year we were able to experience the beautiful event in France for a while. That this is a permanent event and a great challenge for everyone should be clear. ONLY CONCERN: the event will not take place in 2025. So sign up for 2026! The reason why it won't take place is because the Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift will also be in the region then. You have several days of different types of routes and three full days of gravel fun. The catering is well organized. Falling Leaves Lahti
The fact that the organizers of the Nordic Gravel Series know what they are doing proves it. Falling Leaves Lahti. What a great event this is! Not only can you enjoy some great gravel riding here, the party atmosphere is also top-notch! Note: beer is expensive here, so it’s better to go to the water instead. Besides these events, the organizer also has a lot of other events that fit the growing demand for great gravel events. Falling Leaves Lahti offers you multi-day gravel fun in the beautiful setting of Finland and Lahti.
